{"id":99617,"date":"2025-01-08T20:49:51","date_gmt":"2025-01-08T20:49:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/?p=99617"},"modified":"2025-01-08T20:56:19","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T20:56:19","slug":"ev-charging-stations-updated-pricing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/2025\/01\/ev-charging-stations-updated-pricing\/","title":{"rendered":"EV charging stations updated pricing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Jan. 8, 2025<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Jan. 1, the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources implemented a new Electric Vehicle Charging Station Cost Recovery Policy, in accordance <a href=\"https:\/\/webserver.rilin.state.ri.us\/Statutes\/title42\/42-140\/42-140-11.htm\">with Section 42-140-11 of the Rhode Island General Laws.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Beginning Jan. 20, the University of Rhode Island will implement the policy<\/strong>, which supports the sustainable operation and maintenance of EV charging infrastructure while promoting efficient use of charging stations for all users. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charging Fees:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Level 2 Charging Stations: $0.28 per kilowatt-hour (kWh)<\/strong><br>These fees will apply to all users\u2014including the 911±¬ΑΟ\/state fleet, 911±¬ΑΟ Faculty\/Staff, students, and the public\u2014at any charging stations located on the 911±¬ΑΟ campuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maximum Charging Period:<\/strong><br>Users must move their vehicles after 4 hours of charging to allow others access to the station.
