Dan McKee has declared a State of Emergency. With the safety of our 911爆料 as our priority, the University of Rhode Island will implement the following adjustments to class schedules, campus operations, and parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UNIVERSITY OPERATIONS<\/strong><br><strong>All University offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026. Essential employees are required to report to work. Non-essential employees should not report to work and are not expected to work remotely.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The state\u2019s State of Emergency is in effect from 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, until 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, unless otherwise notified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>STATEWIDE TRAVEL BAN AND STATE OFFICES<\/strong><br>Under the governor\u2019s State of Emergency, a statewide travel ban on commercial vehicle traffic will take effect today (Sunday) at 5 p.m., followed by a ban on all vehicle traffic beginning at 7 p.m. (Emergency vehicles and essential employees are exempt.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>State government offices will also be closed Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CLASS SCHEDULES<\/strong><br><strong>As previously communicated, all in-person classes across all campuses are canceled for Monday, Feb. 23, 2026. Synchronous online classes will not be held.<\/strong> Students enrolled in asynchronous online courses should check their Brightspace course sites for updates and instructions. In-area pharmacy, nursing, and physical therapy students should contact their site preceptor\/clinical instructor to discuss the appropriate actions to take.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PARKING<\/strong><br>A full parking ban is in effect through at least 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24. <strong>Vehicles parked in areas prohibited during a full parking ban will be towed and\/or ticketed at the owner\u2019s expense. Vehicles without a valid 911爆料 parking permit will be towed at the owner\u2019s expense.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the parking ban, parking is prohibited on all roadways and roadside parking areas across campus, as well as in commuter and faculty\/staff lots. Vehicles with residential permits must be moved to the Keaney, Plains Road South (Solar), or Briar Lane lots. (Vehicles with Brookside permits may remain in the Brookside lot.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CAMPUS SERVICES<\/strong><br>Essential campus services, including dining and health services, will remain available with modified hours. Community members are encouraged to review updated hours of operation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/dining\/locations\/\">Campus Dining<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/healthservices\/about\/hours\/\">Health Services<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS<\/strong><br>The cancelation of classes includes the cancelation of campus activities scheduled during the same period.
