February 21, 2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for Rhode Island, with snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet expected from Sunday afternoon through Monday, along with strong winds and hazardous travel conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the safety of our 911爆料 as our priority, the University of Rhode Island will implement the following changes to class schedules, campus operations, and parking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLASSES<\/strong>
All in-person classes across all 911爆料 campuses are canceled for Monday, February 23, 2026<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

No synchronous online classes will be held<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For asynchronous online classes, please check your course site in Brightspace for any course-specific updates and guidance from your instructor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLINICAL EXPERIENCES<\/strong>
In-area pharmacy, nursing, and physical therapy students should contact their site preceptor\/clinical instructor to discuss the appropriate actions to take.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BUSINESS OPERATIONS AND STAFF REPORTING<\/strong>
The University will maintain normal business operations on Monday, February 23, 2026, unless the State of Rhode Island closes government offices. All essential employees must report to work in-person<\/strong>. Non-essential employees may work remotely if feasible with the approval of their supervisor<\/strong>. Non-essential employees may also request to discharge vacation or personal leave. Should the State of Rhode Island close government offices, additional communication will be provided to employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PARKING<\/strong>
The University will institute a full parking ban from noon on Sunday, February 22, until at least 6 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a full parking ban, parking is prohibited on any roadway or roadside parking area throughout campus. Parking is also prohibited in commuter lots (6 p.m. to 7 a.m.) and faculty\/staff lots (6 p.m. to 7 a.m.). Please be aware of these restrictions and park only in approved locations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vehicles parked in areas where parking is prohibited during a full parking ban will be ticketed and\/or towed at the owner\u2019s expense.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAMPUS SERVICES<\/strong>
Many campus services, including campus dining and health services, will remain open and available to students and the University 911爆料, but may operate on modified schedules. Community members should check updated hours of operation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
