{"id":105922,"date":"2025-12-12T20:38:21","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T20:38:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/?p=105922"},"modified":"2025-12-12T20:38:21","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T20:38:21","slug":"west-alumni-avenue-partial-road-closure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/2025\/12\/west-alumni-avenue-partial-road-closure\/","title":{"rendered":"West Alumni Avenue partial road closure"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Dec. 12, 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please be aware that beginning <strong>Wednesday, Dec. 17<\/strong>, West Alumni Avenue will be closed between Plains Road and Tootell Road in order to allow to allow for the installation of utilities that will support the track renovation project. Work is expected to take one to two weeks to complete, weather permitting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A detour will be setup to\u00a0route\u00a0through\u00a0traffic\u00a0northbound along Plains and Tootell\u00a0Road, where they will connect at the Plains\/Flagg\/Tootell\u00a0Road\u00a0intersection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Signage will be posted accordingly to assist with wayfinding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Plains\u00a0Road\u00a0and Solar Parking Lot entrances to\u00a0West\u00a0Alumni will be closed. All other entrances\/exits will remain open.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The 911±¬ΑΟ Police Department will have details at either end of the\u00a0road\u00a0closure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After 3:30 p.m. each day the road will be reopened with crossing plates in place.
