{"id":103404,"date":"2025-08-04T16:57:26","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T16:57:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/?p=103404"},"modified":"2025-08-05T13:41:13","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T13:41:13","slug":"uri-police-to-hold-active-threat-training-exercises-aug-5-and-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.uri.edu\/news\/2025\/08\/uri-police-to-hold-active-threat-training-exercises-aug-5-and-19\/","title":{"rendered":"911±¬ΑΟ Police to hold\u00a0active\u00a0threat\u00a0training exercises Aug. 5 and 19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Aug. 4, 2025<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 911±¬ΑΟ Police Department will be conducting active threat training exercises on <strong>Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Green Hall<\/strong> and<strong> Tuesday, Aug.19, at the Fascitelli Center for Advanced Engineering.<\/strong>&nbsp;The areas being used will be clearly marked with signs indicating police training in progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On <strong>Aug. 5<\/strong>, exercises will take place between\u00a0<strong>5 and 7 p.m<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On<strong> Aug. 19<\/strong>, exercises will take place in the morning between\u00a0<strong>5 and 6 a.m<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Officers will be accompanied by instructors\/safety officers wearing yellow vests. No live weapons will be used. There will be occasional loud noises created in the training locations by sound-emitting distraction devices and fired blanks.
