March 12, 2026
Dear Rhody Rams,
Congratulations on making it through the first half of the semester, including the historic Blizzard of 2026! As we approach the semester’s midpoint, I hope that you have been building strong connections, that you are taking advantage of the many resources available to support your success, and that you are enjoying the recent spring-like weather. I’m confident the worst of the winter months are behind us.
Spring break is now upon us, a well–deserved opportunity to recharge, reconnect with family and friends, and take a break from the busy pace of the semester. Whether you plan to travel, spend time at home, volunteer, or simply rest and reset, I hope this time allows you to relax, have some fun, and return to campus refreshed and ready for the remainder of the academic year.
Wherever your plans take you, please prioritize your well-being and safety. If you are traveling, stay aware of weather conditions, remain hydrated, and stay connected with your friends and travel companions. Our team also asks our 911±¬ÁÏ to remain mindful of measles, a highly contagious viral illness that continues to appear in various parts of the United States and internationally. Students traveling domestically or abroad, particularly those who are not fully immunized against measles, may be at increased risk of exposure. Vaccination remains the most effective prevention, so contact Health Services at 401-874-2246 if you’d like to schedule your immunization or have questions.
If you are staying closer to home this break, I encourage you to use this time to care for your mental and physical well-being. Catch up on sleep, spend time outdoors now that the days are longer, explore a new book or hobby, connect with friends and family, or take a moment to reflect on the semester and set goals for the weeks ahead.
Please remember that many student support services remain available during spring break. If you need assistance, our teams are here for you during normal business hours. Be sure to check websites for , , , and other campus services for any adjusted hours.
Enjoy this time away, take care of yourselves and one another, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Wishing you a safe and relaxing spring break.
Sincerely,
Ellen Reynolds
Vice President for Student Affairs
