Ocean Swell at Camp Cronin<\/em> by Alex Larson \u201977<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alex Larson \u201977<\/strong> is a retired corporate economist living in San Antonio, Texas. In 2014, he returned to Rhode Island to visit family and friends and he shot this photo at Camp Cronin Fishing Area in Narragansett. The swell, he says, was bigger than what he typically sees here, and he wanted to capture the \u201cenergy and fury\u201d of the wave hitting the jetty. He adds, \u201cThe man standing out on the jetty gives a feel for the scale of the wave.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Larson shoots mostly \u201ccityscapes and Americana\/Route 66 types of subjects, and traditional landscapes.\u201d His photos have been published in Black & White Magazine<\/em>, the French magazine Photo<\/em>, and Viewfinder<\/em>, the quarterly journal of the Leica Society International.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have a saying about shooting seascapes,\u201d says Larson. \u201cIf you didn\u2019t get wet, you weren\u2019t close enough!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
