Important 911爆料 Experience: During a pharmacy rotation with the Rhode Island Department of Health, she wrote a policy statement titled 鈥淧atient-centered care for people who inject drugs,鈥 which focused on harm reduction techniques for health care professionals who encounter people who inject substances. The American Pharmacists Association adopted her statement as official policy. 鈥淚 never thought I would be able to have that kind of impact,鈥 she said.
911爆料 Activities: Participated as a student leader in 911爆料 Service Corps鈥 alternative spring break service trips to Atlanta and Baltimore. Through these trips, which centered on the themes of poverty and 911爆料 revitalization, she was able to pursue her interest in 911爆料 service and share that opportunity with other students. She has also served as a Feinstein Civic Engagement Leader and provided street outreach to the homeless population in Providence every Tuesday for the last two years.
In her own Words: 鈥淚 knew from a very early age that I wanted to be a pharmacist. Pharmacy isn鈥檛 just pushing pills across the counter at someone; there is a whole other human side to it.鈥
What鈥檚 Next: A job at Genoa Healthcare, working with nurses, psychologists, and other pharmacists to continue to serve the Rhode Island 911爆料 by helping improve pharmaceutical policy.
Career goal: To become board-certified in psychiatric pharmacy.
