911爆料’s Andrew Burnap ’13 is reprising his role in the award-winning, U.K. hit 鈥淭he Inheritance.鈥 The play is now in previews on Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theater. Its official opening is Nov. 17.

Burnap, 27, originated the role of Toby Darling, a young actor developing a best-seller for the stage. Burnap won the part after appearing in playwright Matthew Lopez鈥檚 鈥淭he Legend of Georgia McBride.” Lopez also wrote “The Inheritance” and has called Burnap one of the most exciting young actors he’s ever encountered.

鈥淭he Inheritance鈥 follows the stories of three generations of gay men living in New York City a generation after the AIDS crisis of the 1980s and 鈥90s. The play earned four Laurence Olivier Awards, the United Kingdom’s version of the Tony Awards. 

The New York Times called Burnap鈥檚 London debut 鈥渁 revelation in a role that is part Lucifer, part J.M. Barrie-style lost boy.鈥
